Hyatt Regency New Brunswick NJ 3* $40

This is unbelievably good price! Hyatt Regency New Brunswick is one of the best hotel in the area right next to Johnson and Johnson Headquarter. It can walk to New Brunswick train station and many nice area of the town.

Mariott Fairfield Inn at Newark DE only $25

I never tried to select 2 star hotel, but just wanted to always and I did. It was a wonderful surprise that I got the bid of Marriott Fairfield Inn at Newark DE at only $25. It is a very nice room with wall paper, two double bads table can chairs, TV, coffee pots ...etc just like regular hotel.

It also provided free continental breakfast with coffee, juice, fruit, waffel, yougart, bred, muffin ...etc. that made me wondering how would they make money.

Tropicana Casino And Resort at Atlantic City NJ

I came across a website called Bid On Travel that showed great tips on bidding hotel through priceline.com, and I just followed it and got a wonderful bid at Tropicana Casino And Resort at Atlantic City for only $30 a night. It is unbelievable!!

Basically, what it says is that hotels at casinos can be very low during slow seasons, and you can bid as low as you can imagine. But I also notice the direct price for this casino is very low.

Clarion Hotel & Towers at Edison NJ

I am always wondering what it means by two and a half stars, comparing to 3 star hotels, and I just got one for only $35. It is unbelivable since last time I stayed there, it costs me $129.

Last time, James Lee told me that he got this hotel for $35 a night so that he does not have to rent an apartment since he can use 3 nights (Mon, Tue, Wed) a week for his graduate study at Rutgers University, rather than communite from Long Island or rent an apartment. I was kind of surprised with the arrangement and price, and now I got it myself!!!

I think this hotel is best used for Chinese New Year Parade at Edison NJ on 1-25-04 since it is on the Route of the parade.

Hyatt Regency Jersey City on the Hudson

This time was another great surprise on bidding thru Priceline.com I was thinking to check out the Christmas Tree at Rockfeller Center but not driving into the city, so I want to find a hotel have easy access to the City. I could not believe that I started bidding $40 on the Jersey City at NJ and I got it!!! As soon as I got the bid, I went to Hyatt Regency and check the price, and I found it would be at least $109 for their web rate, and later I found out the rack rate was $550.

The valet parking was $30, but I just did the self parking, after checked in and moved all the luggages to the room, at two blocks away at a designated 24 hour parking facility. It would cost $22 for overnight parking, but with parking sticker from Hyatt Regency front desk, it would cost only $15. Then I took the PATH train at Exchange Place station, right next to Hyatt Rengency, to new World Trade Center PATH station. It took the WTC PATH train only a few minutes to get under the Hudson River to lower Manhanttan, and with 20 trip pass at $24, it only costed $1.20 per person.

As soon as got out of the new World Trade Center PATH station, I just checked out the Millenium Hilton at 55 Church St where you can see a big swimming pool at 5th floor and nice restaurant at 3rd floor. What I like this hotel in particular is their 42" Plasma TV. I also checked out the famous Century 21 Department Store next to it where you can save 40% to 70% on clothing and lots of things.

Then I just stepped down to the Subway Station and took N,R to 34th St then transferred F,V train to 49th St where Rockerfeller Center Plaza was right above it; it made me feel so excited when the elevator took me right at the Ice Ring from the Cafe restaurant and saw the huge Christmas Tree and the crowd. Then I walked around and took lots of pictures.

I also checked out the Pokema Center and MSNBC Stores before walking over to Broadway and checked out Time Square and down to 33rd St where I took the elevator at the street down to PATH station and took train back to Exchange Place and walk back to the Hyatt Regency.

I am so glad to go to Priceline.com to bid a hotel room at White Plains, NY with $50 bid and won the hotel room on 11-8-03 Sat. Later I found out the optimal bid price was $46.5 for that hotel, so you can save extra $3.50 next time when you bid.
